What's new in NeverRunShort.

NeverRunShort was originally released as "Money Planner," briefly renamed "Tideline," then "Shoal," and is now NeverRunShort — same account, same data, same backend throughout. Here's the recent history.

  • Fixed: the app header's brand name could overlap the version badge on some browsers now that the name is the longer "NeverRunShort" — the badge moved onto its own line and the title now wraps safely instead of overflowing.
  • Changed: replaced the email newsletter signup with a proper Contact page — messages now go straight to an inbox instead of a mailing list.

  • Renamed to NeverRunShort. Same account, same data, same backend — only the name, icon, and branding changed. Existing users didn't need to do anything.

  • Fixed: a brand-new account now uploads its existing local data on first sign-in.
  • Fixed: the service worker now reliably updates the app instead of serving a stale cached copy.
  • Sync now warns before overwriting the cloud if another device changed the planner in the meantime.
  • Importing a backup now validates the file and asks for confirmation first.
  • New "Projected cash" chart visualizing your cash runway; new display-currency setting (CAD, USD, EUR, GBP, and more).
v9 and earlier
  • Automatic cross-device synchronization with the same email/password account on phone and computer.
  • Local-first saving — edits save immediately to the device, then sync when online.
  • JSON backup and CSV export.
